These exclusive products — all created in the Italian company’s own mills from the best raw materials in the world- are distributed through a global network of Loro Piana boutiques and leading wholesalers.

HISTORY

The Loro Piana family started as merchants of wool fabrics at the beginning of the 19th century. The current company – Ing. Loro Piana & C – was established on April 4-th, 1924 by Pietro Loro Piana in Corso Rolandi, Qiuarona (Valsesia}, which is still the group’s corporate headquarters today.

Pietro’s nephew, Franco Loro Piana, took over the running of the company in 1941. He successfully made a name for the company as a supplier of fine fabrics for the “haute couture” industry, which was a growing phenomenon in the post-war period and exported its products to international markets.

During the early seventies Franco’s sons, Sergio and Pier Luigi, took over his responsibilities, taking the corporation to worldwide leadership in the sector.

Today Loro Piana owns over 132 stores worldwide that distribute luxury sportswear and leisurewear for men, women and children, knitwear, accessories, home collection, bags, shoes and small leather goods, and one of the most complete made-to-measure services available in the market.

In order to achieve and maintain tl1e distinctive quality and high level of excellence in Loro Piana products, the company uses a completely vertical structure so that it can fully control every stage of production, from the selection of raw materials to the distribution of the finished product through the company’s retail network.

Loro Piana owns six manufacturing facilities in Italy {they are all located in the Valsesia area, where textile skills are highly qualified, three in the United States and one in Outer Mongolia.

In addition, to more successfully fulfill the requirements of each individual market, Loro Piana maintains company offices and subsidiaries in each area, ensuring that the Group’s business is properly coordinated in each specific region.
